I knew I  said I'd only be posting weekly, but I need to say something. 4 years ago, I won a goldfish, and so did my friend. Hers died that night. My golden gift ended her stride last night, just after I posted my entry. My heart is now chipped, and the strongest filling cannot fill it. -sigh- This is Alexa signing off of littlegirlbigopinions.blogspot.com.

Beginnings and Ends

Hello! My name is Alexa Lowell. I am ten years old, and live in Illinois. You will hear my voice in all my posts, and I will write on my thoughts of recent news, and just about anything I have an opinion on! So, I guess I should start  blogging!
There were 48 deadly school attacks from February 29, 2000 to April 19, 2013. It makes me sick. If this is what immigrants call “the land of new beginnings,” I think I’ll laugh. Ha. Who else to blame other than the shooters themselves? Most of you probably would have said no one. But I think you’re wrong. And don’t think I don’t know what I’m talking about just cause I’m a kid. I may not have been the best kid in the USA, but I do know what I’m talking about.
I think the people who are really to blame are those who didn’t help these people in the first place, or made it worse. For example, read this article: Lake Worth Middle School Florida teacher Barry Grunow was fatally shot by his student, 13-year-old Nathaniel Brazill, who had returned to school after being sent home at 1 p.m. by the assistant principal for throwing water balloons. Brazill returned to school on his bike with a 5 inch Raven and four bullets stolen from his grandfather the week before. Brazill was an honor student. Grunow was a popular teacher and Brazill's favorite.
He was sent home for throwing water balloons. That doesn’t deserve that. It deserves detention. If they knew that would have happened, they wouldn’t have given an undeserved punishment. Plus, reread the underlined part. The assistant principal made the decision. No executive decision. Just them. I agree this shouldn’t have happened. I’m not saying its ok. But we could have tried harder  to stop it, is all I’m saying. And I’m sorry for this man’s family.
And Obama isn’t helping. Read this article title: Obama's gun control efforts boost firearm sales. How is this helping again? Background checks help, but there is a small chance they may not work. And what about the guns already out there? This is Alexa, signing off of littlegirl,bigopinions.com.
